An early oval marble font

A 16th century (possibly earlier) oval marble font with diamond shaped body. Beautiful double bolection moulding on the rim. Small drainage hole at the bottom.

Carved in "Noir Amandé" or Black Almond marble, a name given because of the beautiful almond shaped white incrustations.

Small chip on the upper rim. Weathered and used surface but structurally sound. Depth of the basin: 14cm.
