A very rare late 18th-century French marble sink, carved from Céret marble, a rare and beautiful stone quarried since antiquity.
The generously proportioned form is particularly elegant, with two concave corners, a moulded rim and finely shaped interior. The marble itself is exceptional, with a luminous crystalline surface and subtle blue-grey veining running through the stone.
In very good original condition, structurally sound and fully watertight, with a smooth interior and excellent drainage. Minor chips and traces of wear to the rim and body are entirely commensurate with its age.
