A beautifully worn cylindrical font from Holland, circa 1800, carved from petit granit limestone with characteristic fossil and crystal inclusions. The substantial body has a wonderfully tactile chiseled finish, with an appealingly timeworn surface and rich dark patina.The upper rim shows natural wear and a few unobtrusive small losses. Smoothly worn inside with excellent drainage. Structurally sound and watertight, in excellent usable condition.
