a mid-18th century, Dutch limestone sink

SOLD

Reference N°:

308-26

A rare mid-18th-century Dutch rectangular sink carved from Petit Granit limestone, a dense fossil-rich blue-grey stone. The sink features a finely carved bolection edge to the front and sides, with finely hand-chiseled surfaces throughout. The basin floor is smoothly finished and gently sloped toward the original drain opening.

Displaying an attractive aged patina, the sink shows minor edge chips, gentle wear, and a small loss to the rear edge, all consistent with age. Otherwise in excellent condition, with no cracks or repairs. Structurally sound, watertight, and fully usable.
