An 18th Century French Marble Sink, carved from deep burgundy, richly veined Rouge du Languedoc marble, this 18th-century French sink has a rectangular form with elaborate front moulding and partial moulding to the sides. The back and rear lateral sides are roughly hewn, reflecting its original installation built into a wall.
The basin features two softly convex inner front corners and a smooth, well-sloped base allowing excellent water drainage.
In very good condition, with light surface wear consistent with age and use and a few small, unobtrusive chips to the upper rim. No cracks or breaks; structurally sound and fully watertight. A fine and authentic example of French architectural marble from the period.
