A late 17th/ early 18th century French marble sink

Reference N°:

274

A beautifully veined French marble sink dating to the late 1600s / early 1700s. Rectangular in form, it features a recessed bowed front with an elegantly carved oval basin, flanked by two integrated drain boards. Hewn from a warm brown Pyrenean marble richly patterned with intricate white and orange veining, the piece displays a refined chiseled and lightly hammered surface finish.

The back edge remains roughly worked, as the sink was originally built into a wall. Structurally excellent and fully usable, with no cracks or breaks. The basin bottom is smoothly finished, ensuring proper water flow. Expected traces of age are present, including minor edge wear and small chips, but overall the condition is outstanding for a piece of this period.
