A beautifully carved sink in dark, warm brown Pyrenean marble, dating to circa 1780. Of rectangular form with a slightly off-centered oval basin, the piece features a finely worked moulding along the lower rim. The front edge is subtly lowered at the basin, demonstrating both craftsmanship and functional design typical of the period.
In excellent, fully usable condition. Surface shows light wear consistent with age and historic use, including small edge chips (see photographs), but remains structurally sound with no cracks or breaks. Salvaged from a town house in Bages, France.
A superb and characterful architectural element with genuine 18th-century patina.
