An 18th century "Gris des Ardennes" marble sink

A fine rectangular sink in "Gris des Ardennes" marble, dating from the 18th century. The marble displays the distinctive dark grey ground, animated with veins of white and touches of warm ochre. The piece features a central oval basin with elegant “bird’s beak” moulding on three sides. The surface shows a naturally worn patina consistent with age and use, enhancing its character.

Condition: Some wear, small edge losses and scuffs (please refer to pictures). No cracks or structural breaks – sound and stable.

Origin:

Salvaged from a property close to the city of Spa, present-day Belgium
