An early 18th century, burgundy marble sink

SOLD

Reference N°:

254-25

A rare, early 18th-century French marble sink, carved out of a deep burgundy marble, richly interlaced with white veining and scattered visible fossils. Time has softened the stone's upper surface to a gentle patina, a naturally worn finish that speaks to centuries of utilitarian use.

The sink is oblong in form, with a distinctive bowed front, lending it both elegance and ergonomic function. At its center lies an oval basin, smoothly carved and slightly recessed, designed to efficiently collect water.

There are minor edge losses, consistent with its age—small chips and nicks that add to its authentic character—yet it remains structurally sound and fully water tight.
