A rare, mid-18th century, Dutch stone sink

ON HOLD UNTIL AUG. 4th.

Reference N°:

252

A small, square sink dating to the 18th century, of Dutch origin, finely carved from petit granit limestone—a dense, fossil-rich stone known for its dark grey hue and subtle mottling. The front edge is subtly lowered in a gentle bracket-shaped curve, adding both functionality and understated decorative interest.

The body displays a well-preserved artisan finish, with visible fine chiseling and hammering marks that speak to the craftsmanship of the period. Surface wear, minor edge losses, and a few scattered chips are present, all consistent with centuries of use, yet contributing to the sink’s authentic patina and character.

Despite these signs of age, the piece remains structurally sound and fully usable.
