A good, mid-18th century Dutch stone sink

SOLD

Reference N°:

246-46

A rare, mid 18th century Dutch rectangular stone sink carved from Petit Granit limestone - a dense fossil rich blue-grey stone quarried in present-day Belgium. The body features a beautifully carved bolection edge on the front. The fine chiseled finish, still visible on the exterior surfaces, gives the piece a textured, hand-worked appearance that speaks to its age and artisanal origins. The bottom surface of the sink is smooth and allows a perfect drainage of the water towards the sink's drain hole. A few small chips and losses along the edges and areas where the stone has been gently worn down. Otherwise in excellent, usable condition. No cracks or breaks, structurally sound.
