A substantial, 18th century circular marble basin. The basin takes the form of classical bowl, gently tapering from a wide, moulded upper rim down to a narrower base. Carved out "Gris de Caunes" marble, once quarried in Southern France. Wear consistent with age is present throughout, including surface abrasions, minor losses and chipping along the rim, body and base (please refer to pictures). Structurally sound and in very good condition.
