A substantial, 18th century Dutch limestone sink

Reference N°:

232

A very large, rectangular Dutch sink. The sink was carved out of "petit granit" limestone, showing the typical inclusion of small fossils and shells. Beautifully carved bolection moulding on the upper edge. Very fine chiseled finish all over the body. In excellent, usable condition. No cracks or breaks, structurally perfectly sound and water tight. A few chips and small, unobtrusive losses on the rim and body (please refer to pictures), wear consistent with age and use. The inner surface of the sink is smooth and allows a perfect water drainage.
