A SUBSTANTIAL, 18TH CENTURY DUTCH LIMESTONE SINK

Reference N°:

228-25

A very large, rectangular Dutch limestone sink. Beautifully carved bolection moulding on the upper edge. The sink was carved out Belgian "Petit granit" limestone. The stone shows the typical inclusion of small, white marine fossils and shells. Very fine chiseled finish all over the body. In excellent, usable condition. No cracks or breaks, structurally perfectly sound and water tight. A few chips and small, unobtrusive losses on the edges(please refer to pictures), wear consistent with age and use. The inner surface of the sink is smooth and allows a perfect water drainage.
