An early 19th century, Dutch limestone font

A rare, Dutch stone font with semi-circular, bowl shaped body. Beautifully moulded rim at the top. Delicate chiseled finish all over the body. A few, unobtrusive knocks and chips on the corners and edges (please refer to pictures). A couple of superficial hairline cracks on the body not affecting the general structure. Some wear consistent with age and use. Structurally sound and perfectly water tight.

Rescued from a town house in Middelburg, Southern Netherlands, ca. 1800-1820
