An 18th century, solid "Marquise" marble sink

A rectangular marble sink with "cartouche" shaped basin. Nicely moulded body. Carved out of the beautifully veined, dark brown "Marquise" marble, once quarried in Northern France. A few unobtrusive losses on the front edge. One small loss on the front, left corner (Please refer to pictures). Wear consistent with age and use. Structurally perfectly sound and water tight. Inner height basin: 12cm / 4.7" - Drainage hole diameter: 4,5cm / 1.8".
