A large, 18th cent. Rouge Royal marble sink

An exceptional, early - mid 18th century, rectangular marble sink. Adorned with two metal rings on the front. Carved out a beautifully veined "Rouge Royal" marble. Elaborate half hollow moulding on the front and lateral sides. Some unobtrusive wear to the upper rim and body (please refer to pictures). One small loss at the right bottom corner.

In excellent, usable condition. No cracks or breaks. Perfectly water tight. Drainage hole adapted to modern standards, any unslotted drain plug or basin waste will fit.

Rescued from a property close to the city of Liège, Southern Belgium, ca. 1700-1750
